Aside from the obvious, can anyone tell me why the P229 DAK chambered in .357 Sig is getting difficult to find?

Thanks in advance!

To be honest, and I know this sounds absurd, not alot of people even know what a .357SIG is. You tell your average once of 6 months shooter, "hey I got a .357 SIG" and they'll say cool I love .357's you know you can shoot .38's out of it right. So that in turn causes low sales of guns in this caliber so there just aren't alot of 'em out. Everytime I go to the range and buy a box of .357SIG the guy at the counter gives me a strange look and says in a drawn out voice, .357 SIG, you know these aren't, and I stop him and say I know I know. Everytime, the same guy, never fails. I think this is a major contributing factor to the lack of handguns chambered for this round. But it is one of my favorite pistol calibers and I hope it stays around.

I have a Sig P226 in .357 Sig and it is a handfull in that calliber in a full size frame so I can only imagine a compact in .357 is going be really tough to handle, that calliber is a great defensive weapon BUT? Hey I'm just saying!!!! Have you shot a P228/P229 in 9mm? Much easier to handle/operate and be accurate... COOP

That's my assigned duty weapon (P226 in .357 Sig). You're right, it's a handful, but my main complaint is that I can't afford to shoot the d*mn thing! Luckily I get 2 boxes / month for practice otherwise I'd never be able to shoot it!
