When shipping to FFL

If I buy a gun online and have it shipped to a local FFL do I need to let the FFL know first or can I just ship it?

Also, does anyone know the cheapest FFL in the Knoxville area, I think someone said Bill's Outpost was cheap but I can't remember the price.

I would let them know to expect the shipment. If your gun is shipping from another FFL, your local FFL will need to send a copy of their license to the shipping FFL.

Yep. This! The sender will need a copy of the receiving persons FFL prior to sending.

yes. Call your ffl BEFORE you order. You may be surprised by their price, willingess to handle it, ect. Some dealers don't ike doing transfers at all so it is always safer to check first. You won't like paying shipping twice if it gets returned.

I always deal with the same place for transferswhen I order guns and stuff and when I call I basicall say this:

Hey this is 'insert your name' and I need you to fax your ffl to 'insert online dealers name and number'

And that is basically it. You have to call them because the online dealer won't ship without an ffl being faxed or sent some other way to them. Make sure you give your transfer dealer your name as well. I've ran in to this once and don't want to do it again. My transfer dealer forgot to put my name in with the fax and the online dealer had no idea why they got an ffl faxed to them. I spent alot of time on the phone with them to straighten that one out.
