Ruger LCP. I plan to carry this in my back pocket without a pocket holster. Is it ok to do so?

I have never pocket carried but I have always read you should use a holster for pocket carry, to prevent negligent discharge and to keep lint out of the gun, thus ensuring reliability.

While lint in the weapon is an issue, it is still an issue even with the holster. That said, the holster is good for keeping the weapon oriented and gives an extra layer of protection.

Probably the biggest issue with carrying without a holster is the pistol shaped hole you're going to wear in your pocket after a couple of months. I'd spend the $20 on a pocket holster.

Buy an Uncle Mike's #2 for your LCP: $7 on Amazon.com. It will keep the LCP safe and clean, and for the most part will help you not to print. There is no point in taking chances with the bang switch exposed...

I carry an LCP in the Desantis Nemesis in my front pocket 99.9% of the time. Most of the time I never know its there. You need something over the trigger, just in case...

+2 on the Desantis Nemesis. Practice dry fire pulling it with it in your front pocket. It will slip right off the gun when you pull. I walk around with my hand in my pocket right on it allot.

get the uncle mikes and/or desantis nemesis holster for pocket carry. just makes things better and they are cheap too.

Like everyone else has said, a holster is cheap insurance. There's not much reason for a trigger to be exposed unless you're intent is to pull the trigger. And I sure don't want to pull the trigger while the gun is in my pocket.

I have this exact same combo. It definitely is easy to draw from and orients the weapon correctly. I did have to move my Kershaw to my other side pocket though.

Pretty cool concept, but I'm gonna go with Johhny here....

I vote for a pocket holster:koolaid:

Keep it clean and fingers out of trigger guard:death:

Pocket holster for sure my LCP is in my off hand front pocket both on and off duty. Does everything everyone else has said: keeps it clean and in the right spot.
