Why do you carry a Glock?

The problem with berettas, as it was related to me, came about when the SEALs were training with the SAS in the north sea and where given the 92FS to evaluate. The SAS were using Sten gun ammo, a kind of P++ 9mm round. The Sigs could digest it just fine, but the Berettas had several catastrophic slide failures as well as other issues with the round.

Some of the early M9/92FS weapons had a weak slide problem but that was fixed.

While I wouldn't recommend a steady diet of it, I have been known to fire P+++ SMG rounds in my 92SB with no problem.

Andy—do you remember when Dick got a Glock. I went with him the first time he had it out to shoot. I grabbed the top of the slide to cock it and ripped the rear site off it....

Yeah - I think I remember that. Hopefully they have worked out that little 'glitch' by now.

Glocks don't fit in my hands as well as the SIG, so I'd never carry one.

I was never issued a Glock. A plasma rifle in the 40 watt range, perhaps, but never a Glock...
