From PA but coming to TN some day

Hi. I'm Tom. I currently live in PA, but started to check around TN gun forums because in the next few years I may well move there. I'm a newbie to guns... have only a 38 special snubby (S&W 642) - got it about a year ago.

I've been looking at the TN gun laws... some are better than PA, some are worse. You guys seem pretty active with the state legislature. Lots of good things seem to be on the docket right now.

I started thinking about getting into reloading... not because I shoot so much, but because I wanted some lighter loads for my son to get started with. So 10 months ago I ordered the hard-to-get stuff... powder and primers. Well, they just arrived. Now I have to decide whether to really go ahead with the other equipment purchase or just not get into reloading. I haven't been shooting much (mostly because I knew it would be hard or expensive to find more ammo).

So that's me.

I highly recommend the move. I worked in York PA for years and lived in the Peoples Republic of Maryland. I am so glad to be out of there. TN has no state income taxes. The people are great, very friendly and welcoming, great values and God fearing. Cost of living is low and the climate is nice. When I am visiting in Maryland people regularly tell me they would like to get out due to the very liberal political climate, taxes, cost of living, so many people on the gov. dole, and poor work ethic and ethics in general.

Thank you Tennesseans for being so welcoming and creating such a great state. Ya'll have given me a little hope for our country.

Welcome, Tom! I have relatives in Bloomsburg, if you've heard of that little town. I love rural Pennsylvania. My dad grew up in Philly. Ever had any scrapple? Dad moved down here after WW2 for the golf courses and friendly people and only went back to see his sister, another fine Pennsylvanian. Come on down:D

Howdy Tom and Welcome to TGO :ugh:

I find reloading to be an enjoyable hobby in and of it self.

See if someone near you can give you some hints/time on their equipment.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone.

I grew up in Shippensburg, PA, which is why I also love rural living (Yes I've been to Bloomsburg a few times). Right now I'm in the western burbs of Philly. We'll probably be looking to end up in the north-eastern part of TN. That would make for shorter drives when coming back up here to visit family. It's early in the process, but if anyone knows of a good realtor in that area, let me know.

There are some guys at my gun club who reload... I should see if I can work with their setup for a bit to get a feel for it.

Thanks again.
