Not sure if I should go today or tomorrow after church (my church is right over the bridge so I'll already be in that area). I'm more interested in Frank's suppressors than anything else, so I'll decide over breakfast :D

Just got back from the show. First, not to discourage anyone, but so that you won't get 'shocked': When you go in the show, check your guns, and pay your admission? Almost the entire half of the room to the right of that table is non-firearm stuff. Some of it is firearms related accessories, and some of it is just 'stuff'. The middle section and to the left of the table is the section where the majority of the firearms can be found, and to the far left, you have maybe two or three rows of non-firearm stuff again....some related, some not.

With all of that in mind, depending on what you are looking for, you 'might' find something...just don't go and expect to have your mind blown. As to the ammo prices I saw, you can meet or beat those prices by going to Bass Pro Shops or Guns & Ammo....

Now, for the GOOD news. For a while, I had been wanting something in particular, and sure enough, I saw it at the show...

I came home with a S&W Model 19, 2 1/2 inch, round butt .357 Magum, nickle plated! The finish is not only original, but it's 100%> My guess is that the gun was test fired at the factory...doesn't look like it saw ANY use from the original owner, and it was probably a safe queen. YES, I'm going to shoot it...that's why I got it!!!!!!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy it tomorrow....

How much was the admission? Did you notice if their was a kid admission?

The admission was $8 bucks, and the kids admission was $2 bucks. I don't really remember the age cut-off....maybe 12???

I never expect ANYTHING out of the Memphis Gun Show. It usually isn't worth going to, but I earned my pass (I took the kids out this morning so momma could sleep) so I am going. If for no other reason than to attempt to meet people from here. Franks booth around 1. Did you see it? Which aisle is it located on?

I went this afternoon as well and met Frank. Really nice guy, cool as hell too. I ended up getting the ball rolling on the sound suppressor for my P22 that I got from Chance, so, in about 2-3 months, I'll have a fully suppressed P22 lol.

Frank's booth is pretty easy to spot. He has a whiteboard with his company name on it. When you enter the building, make a left and go down about 3-4 rows, and you'll see his booth. I noticed the ammo prices weren't that great at all though. I can't say I was impressed with the show, but since I went there specifically to get that suppressor, I can't say i was disappointed either.

Also, the age cutoff is 12 for kids. I ended up getting that suppressor, a nylon soft holster for the P22 ($10 from a guy named Mark over on the far left side of the building, has a TON of different types of holsters) and a .22 bore brush and cotton mop (those 2 for $2 each, so not a bad deal for that).

I went today...the admission...8 bucks..and YES to the kid admission..I think it was 2...

anyway...as Loaded explained...check your guns, no loaded mags, everything to the right...knives and stuff...

couple gun tables, nothing real impressive...so I went to Guns and Ammo...and THATS when I saw it...Kahr CW40...had to have it!! got it for 40 bucks cheaper than the gun show, and they were having a today only discount day...so I got an extra 20 buck off...

440 out the door...

went to the range, 500rds...unbelievable gun..I LOVE it...it is SO comfortable...

gun show was ok...nothing huge. or overly impressive for 8 bucks...BTW today they marked you with a purple sharpie..just a line on the top of your hand

not sure if sunday will be the same color but oh well..

I had more fun at guns and ammo

Frank is ETS Inc on the board. Doesn't have a sign with his name, but it was him and another guy at the booth he was in. You'll know his booth because he's the only one with 4 sound suppressors in a case.

I'm out, kitchen pass revoked! Wife has to go help her mom get everything together for the huge amount of family coming over.

Made it there about 1:15, met/talked to Frank. Really helpful and knowledgeable guy. The rest of the show was a little disappointing, other than a few nice finds--most of those nice finds were overpriced though.

Looking forward to my tax return next year!

half-pint...

are you really the asst mgr of classic arms?? I know stupid question...lol...how long have you been there?

Yes, Canyn, I am... Jay is the owner, Alfred is the manager, and I'm the assistant manager. Sounds a whole lot better than "the young punk kid with the high-and-tight." I've been here since 12/11/06.

The running joke--albeit sometimes in poor taste--is that Jay owns the place, Alfred and I just run it.

There is an older guy there...he has glasses, little on the heavy side, not the friendliest cat on the planet...lol...who is that??

Guys,

I can't believe I hadn't revisited this thread since the show.

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen. It was great to meet you guys, as well. And thank you guys for making this show THE BEST EVER GUNSHOW I'VE EVER HAD!!! Had I walked out Saturday, and not bothered showing up on Sunday, I still would have exceeded my sales from any previous gun show. And there was more money made on Sunday. You guys better believe I'll be back again.

Oh, and guys, if you're looking for a great way to spend gunshow profits while in Memphis, I whole-heartedly recommend the kind ladies at The Pony. lol They pretty much ended up getting my profits for the weekend. But, it was my bithday weekend, so it was well worth it. Woot!

Thanks again, guys. I'll see y'all again as soon as possible.
