Check out what else she is sponsoring:

H.CON.RES.42 : Honoring the heroic service and sacrifice of the 6,500 glider pilots of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.
Isn't that about 50 years late?

with all the important issues weighing on our nation, these RETARDS are filling up their time in congress with things like making a national holiday for Cesar Chavez.

49 is not a lot of co-sponsors for a House bill. Looks like nothing has been done on it since March 19 when it was assigned to committee.

I'll be surprised if there is a big push for this before the next Presidential election.

True... if you look at her previous-years attempts at this, the co-sponsors were more than double before it was killed.

This will be a hot bill in a year or so.

It will go nowhere this year or next. (I am willing to wager $ on this prediction.)

According to the latest polls, most Americans think we have about the right amount of gun control or too much. Democrats who serve districts that are outside big urban areas have discovered this is a bad issue for them. And Bush will veto anything that can actually pass Congress. The '08 presidential election will be a bigger issue for gun rights, but even if the most virulent anti-gun candidate gets elected, congress will probably be as divided as it is now. I predict lots of rhetoric, partisan yelling and screaming, demands for our money from NRA and GOA, but nothing much of actual substance that would impact any law-abiding gun owner.

I wouldn't count on a presidential veto. He hasn't seen anything he wouldn't put pen to except for the stem cell bills.

Your probably right since many dem's believe Gore lost Tennessee due to his gun banning platform.

No matter how much evidence there is that legally owned firearms deter crime these socialist want to take guns away so they can feel free to expand the powers of government and line their pockets as much as possible.

Len, Did you see the latest poll?

Americas' confidence in the current congress is at an all time low....14%

when it hits the single digits it'll be time to either kick them all out or start the revolution!

Jefferson did say something to the effect of "Every free government needs a good revolution every twenty years." Maybe not every twenty years, but we do need one every once in a while. Now if only the damned politicians would understand that the people give the government priveledges, not the other way around...(see Constitution)

The problem with polls like this is the seperation between "Congress" and "Your Congressperson." Most people hate Congress, but like THEIR rep. So, everyone has the "kick the bums out" mentality, but come election day they keep voting for their incumbent. Kicking the bums out means kicking ALL the bums out. Start with a blank slate, and maybe something will get done.

On the other hand, 14% is pretty darn low! Maybe the revolution is not so far behind!
