Injured Sergeant Could Win Big - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Metro police officer Sgt. Mark Chesnut was nominated by a citizen to the America's Most Wanted All Star Program.

Chesnut has the chance to win $10,000 if receives he most votes.

Citizens are encourages to vote for Chesnut as their favorite "All Star" by logging on to the AMW website.

Chesnut's picture and biography are available at on the AMW website, along with 63 other police officers and first responders across the country.

Chesnut is still recovering from extensive surgery to repair damage caused by gunshot wounds he suffered last June, when he stopped two fugitives on Interstate 40 in Bellevue.

Crime fighting television show "America's Most Wanted" asked the public give special recognition to police, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders and nominate their favorite.

You can vote once a day via text message or by entering your email address.
