Not this one, but if you're referring to the 25, I've shot them in the past, and you'd be surprised at the accuracy they're capable of.

Thats kinda what I have seen. How do you tell the diff between generations is there a # a letter or a mark on a certain part of the gun.I have seen the same black grips like yours on pistols in all price ranges.

The first generation had no letters in the serial numbers. The second generation serial numbers hadan "sa" suffix. Then it gets a bit tricky. Here's an excerpt from another site explaining it:

By 1975, the Colt Single Action was in the 74,000SA serial number range and Colt announced that production would cease once again. This shutdown was much shorter than the fourteen years between the First and Second Generations as the Third Generation began in 1976 at serial number 80,000SA and when they hit 99,999 the `SA' became the prefix of the serial number.

Thanks Greg,I have been looking up info on them and this is some of the info I came accross.

Have you had them long and hows the value of them in the market been since you've had them.

I lucked up on those, and have had them for several years. I have very little in them. I wouldn't pay market price for one, but they seem to appreciate in value at a similar rate to the Colt DA revolvers.

A lady I know had a brother who died and she asked if I'd be interested in his guns. When I went to look at them, there were several, including to Colt boxes. I told her honestly what I thought they'd bring retail, and I explained to her I wouldn't pay retail, but she wouldn't have to go to the trouble of trying to sell them one at a time. We were both very happy with the deal. I should have bought his gold coin collection as well. Who knew?

The nickel one is a 22 Frontier Scout. Not nearly as valuable as the SAA.
