I just got a stainless .44 mag Red Hawk and I got a scuff mark on it. Can that be polished out and if so what do I use?

Got pics?

Is the stainless polished or is it a typical machined finish? If you polish out the scuff, you'll have a polished spot on the gun. It will be difficult to adequately duplicate a machined appearing surface finish.

One option is to strip the gun down polish out the scratch then bead blast it to a nice finish with something like # 8 glass beads.

Maroon scotch brite pad found in the paint remover section of the hardware store.

The gray ones work good too - little less aggressive.

This works...trust me

Yep.

My GP100 and SP101 have that "satin" finish. Not high polish.

I use a Scotch Brite and a light touch to get the light scuffs and that cylinder lock line off 'em.

I got the GP used and, after a short session with a SB pad, it looked pristine.
