Well, there's Ed Mason out on Germantown Pkwy but he's so backlogged it takes months to get anything done, even routine stuff.

Where is he located on Germantown Pkwy? Does he also sell firearms? Thanks.

Is Ed Mason the gunsmith in the back of the Dowdle Sporting Goods store? I stopped by there to see what he wanted to charge to install night sights on a Glock I had just bought. I forget what the price was, but he told me it'd be at least 2 weeks. I politely declined and bought a sight pusher and did the install myself. Been doing my own Glock sights ever since.

Keith Warner at Tommy Bronson's. Not sure about the quality of his work, or any backlog.

Guns & Ammo has a 'smith but his name escapes me.

Ed Mason, as mentioned previously, does good work but has a pretty good back-log of work.

Highsmith (ooooooold gentleman, GREAT 'smith) doesn't do much any more, but he used to work out of Dowdle too, IIRC.

Classic Arms has a 'smith, as well. I'm not sure about RangeUSA, but I think they might, too.

Yeah, KB4NS, they have a smith on site. I can't so much say "we" any more as I'm only a temp now, and I'm not at benefactor status (yet) and not affiliated with Classic on TGO.

And thanks for jogging my memory, Deerslayer. Just went blank for some reason. He worked on a buddy's revolver for a couple of competitions, an old S&W 586 that felt like butter when he got done. I have issues with a few on staff of G&A, but Phil knows his way around an N-frame, that's for sure.

Where did you purchase your sight pusher?

I can take care of that for you, possibly.

We hold an IDPA match every Tuesday night at the TWRA range in Bartlett from 6pm-9pm, and I do have an MGW sight pusher. Won't cost you anything.

I also just jumped ship to the M&P Platform, and put this together for the guys on the M&P forum a few weeks back:

I know my way around both guns pretty well. Striker replacement on a Glock or an M&P takes about 30 seconds. Care to give us a few more details about what you're doing to each gun, and how many guns? The M&P is the easiest gun in the world to perform a trigger job on, by the way.

MemphisMechanic I have seen you on MP-Pistol.com and I have watched your videos. Good stuff. I installed the Apex Tactical sear and was looking for someone to remove the sights on my M&P pistols so that I could replace the fpb. I took them to Phil at G&A and he squared me away in no time. Thanks for the offer.

I can vouch for Mason, as he's worked on several of my personal firearms, and I've seen his other work both for customers and on guns we have for sale. Excellent work, great attention to detail, and a quick turn-around . . . just don't let him put a Badger knob on your 700 bolt (inside joke, I'm truly VERY pleased with the work!).
