AK 47 scope advice

I would sure appreciate some advice from all of you AK fans. I have a Bulgarian "Arsenal" AK47 (milled reciever) that shoots abnormally well; however, I took it to a shop to have the barrel threaded and when I got it back the front sight was canted. :( I have pulled the pins, heated, twisted, and brutally beaten the sucker with a brass hammer with no results. I have decided to go optical. (end of rant) Anyhow, I do not know much about scope and mounting options for the AK. What would y'all reccomend for a rugged, wide field of view, fast target aquisition kind of setup for this gun that doesn't cost a fortune? Thanks!

Vortex Strikefire red dot, will run you about $150. They're about as good as it gets until you put out money for an Aimpoint.

Can't recommend a scope, only that you take it back to the "gunsmith" and have the sight fixed.

I agree with this, take it back to the gunsmith and have him fix his

shoddy work, you didn't pay good money to have him screw up a good

rifle.

Please let us know who did the work. Might help someone else avoid the same poor outcome.

I did bring it right back to the shop before attempting to repair it myself. They didn't want to take responsibility for it. (This was at the height of the B.S. Obama gun and ammo scare and they were pulling their hair out) Being the nice guy, I suppose I've forgiven them, but I haven't been back. Also, I do in fact know how to fix a canted sight, but this one acts like it's welded on.
