There a couple of names in there that I recognize but Charlie Sheen was not a big name when the 1st movie came out and Patrick Swayzee and the girl got famous from Dirty Dancing later

Unknown actors try harder. Kinda like Avis:D and probably have some talent.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is known for his lead role in "Watchmen." I don't know how he could be bad in this.

Josh Peck was a Nickeloden star but was good in "The Wackness" and Josh Hutcherson is a good actor for his age he has done allot of kids movies.

I am just happy they picked the Chinese as the invading army. Seems like the most believable (and scariest) scenario.

I'd say Hugo Chavez with all his russian military purchases sneaking through Mexico. A cameo appearance by Vladimir Putin and David Axlerod brokering the surrender of the western US for Obama. Of course then Obama would throw Axlerod under the bus. They could make it a comedy if they had an airborne drop into Sheriff Joes

tent jail. Hell, he could save the day by giving them their pink britches.

I would imagine that the special effects cost alot, whether they be computerized or live action ones.
