Had to be a no hammer block, probably a single action revolver old model. I have a fobus roto holster that in the winter I carry my 1911 , when I first got it I didn't tighten it enough and eventually it rotated 180 and the pistol was hanging, and never budged out of the holster, great retention. Most OWB holsters have excellent retention.

Every firearm I am familiar with that someone would carry has a hammer block somewhere in there to prevent exactly that. That includes some really old Smiths.

I don't see it as a problem. Just an hour wearing a holster at home should tell you whether it will hold the gun or not.

I think Emily Post once had a letter on proper etiquette if your handgun falls out on the floor during a party.

I agree. Especially with my "more than usual" snug jeans when I carry IWB. ;)
