What was your first car/truck?

A white 1990 Pontiac Bonneville. My God-mother sold it to me for 10 bucks. I traded it in on the 2000 Silverado I drive now.

On my Bonneville a friend and I put a flowmaster muffler on it and a chrome truck tip. I never cut the tip to fit the car, so it stuck out past the rear bumper 9 inches. My wife (at the time was my girlfriend) burnt her leg on it once while walking around the back of the car. It was pure awesome.

I really liked that car. It had the 3.8 liter 6 cyl. I had 180,000 + miles on it when I traded it. The transmission was starting to slip and I had broken the drivers seat. Her name was Bonnie and went a lot of place together.

87 GMC long bed truck, 305/auto, topped it out to about 90-100 several times, only registered 85

1988 Chevy Suburban....the old orange state truck. I was waved through stand still traffic on I-75 N by a state trooper. Best. Road Trip. Ever.

'53 Pontiac Cheftain 4 Door Sedan, gift from my grandfather, who had bought it new. Chief Pontiac lit up on the hood.

Great nookie drive-in car.

The last 5K miles I drove it, had rod knocking, and compression was so low I had to turn around and back up a hill near my home, couldn't quite pull it in first.

1985 Chevy Caprice Classic..........it was my mom's and I took the boat over when she got a Ford Exploder. It did things that would have made the Dukes of Hazard proud. It was white, and I found on a trip back to the blockbuster video with a couple VHS tape boxes on the dash, people thought I was a cop.......

The first I bought was a '84 Toyota SR5 4x4 pickup......it was bulletproof and took over where the Caprice left off....that thing went everywhere and would start at 50 below zero.

the first car I ever owned myself was an 86 Hyundai Excel. Actually, a pretty nice car, but geek city for an 18 year old. It was a very well made car, however. I had it for just under 4 years, and got rid of it with about 110,000 miles on it, 110,000 of the toughest miles any car had ever seen, and still ran like a top.

The first car that was mine to drive on a regular basis was a 1978 Buick Regal turbo sport...actually a fairly fast car. Ever since the Hyundai, I've stuck pretty much to sports cars. I've owned 4 Corvettes, several Camaros, a couple of Trans-Ams and some other stuff.

'85 Chevy S-10. 2.8 V6 and no whistles at all not even carpet. totaled it and still drove for it for another year.

'98 single cab 5-speed chevy S-10 with a 2.2. Got it from a guy who had wrecked it but didn't say anything about it. First time it rained the roof around the doors soaked everything. Sealed it up with roofing tar for the next two years. Not a bad ride. Sold to a Mexican who said he was gonna take it down to Mexico with him and try to sell it there, haha.

First was my dad's old car at the time. A 1970 2 door Ford LTD. Gold with a black vinyl top. I hated that car. But, it was the motivation I needed to get me interested in auto mechanics at the age of 16. If the car didn't work (usually something different every week), I couldn't go anywhere.

Luckily, I was able to get a newer car when I was a senior in high school. A 1974 Olds Cutlass Supreme, with a Rocket 350//4 barrel carb, bucket seats, etc. The only option that car didn't have was T-Tops. But it was still a great car, I drove it for a few years.

Most of you guys make me feel older than I am, I had a lot of those great old cars. However, my first was the family sedan: a 1962 Ford Galaxy 500 XL, with the 390 Interceptor Police Package. A local Sherrif ordered the car but the county refused to accept it because it had carpet, floor mats, chrome trim, and a radio. My dad found out about it and bought if. A great old car. Like most of us, I'd sure like it back now. I made lots of memories in it.

Hipower, my first car was a '66 Ford Custom... Basically a Galaxy 500 4-door, but with a 3 speed on the column, and an inline 6 -cylinder.

The car cost all of $200 dollars in 1979. It ended up being totaled for me by my step-father.

In the end, I had more than 21 cars before I even turned 21. I've lost count of how many I've owned by now.

'77 Chevy Silverado, inherited it when my Dad died. My sister "took care of it" until I turned 16. My girlfriend was sitting next to me, I goosed it (gas pedal) turning into her driveway, her foot goosed it the rest of the way to the floor. Hit a big maple tree in her front yard. Man, hadn't thought of that story in a long time.
