If I am not mistaken it only takes 10 round single stack mags. If you open the mag well to take regular AK mags it would have to have a lot of the parts replaced with American made parts to be legal. At least that is my understanding.

Hey Jeff come up and look at a Saiga 7.62X39 Skeleton stock rifle. I think they are a lot better made. We had one of these not long ago and we were not impressed. We have them priced at 395.00 with a 10rd and a 30rd mag.

Looks ok. . .but I dont care about the rail on the reciever cover. . .that will be useless

X2 the ak I bought came with one of those useless things, it rattles and all, and is a PITA to remove and reinstall. plane useless junk that someone is making money on. I have to fbuy a factory one for mine:rolleyes:

Great initial idea, great quality (for an AK), poor overall execution. Why?

1. The rear of the receiver is angle cut (ala the MAK90) to discourage installation of a normal AK style stock (on an angle cut MAK you can still install a regular AK sock but it does not look right)

2. The mount that should be used for the pistol grip if you decided to convert the stock type is incorrect, and worst off it is riveted in place and would need to remove this.

3. It only take a specialized 10 round single stack mag, and converting the rifle to accept the correct double stack AK mags would prove to be very difficult. Some reports say extra plates are now welded into the receiver to make a conversion very difficult.
