Well, here is some law for thought. So what are anyone's thoughts on this and do we have a volunteer for the test?

Subsection (a) shall not apply to - (1) the lawful performance of official duties by an officer, agent, or employee of the United States, a State, or a political subdivision thereof, who is authorized by law to engage in or supervise the prevention, detection, investigation, or prosecution of any violation of law; (2) the possession of a firearm or other dangerous weapon by a Federal official or a member of the Armed Forces if such possession is authorized by law; or (3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes.

I don't know hunting, but what's a "federal facility" for hunting?

Yep, can't quite conceive how hunting got in there, but "other lawful purposes" is often touted as making carry legit with a permit, or not, depending on state law.

Might carry a copy of it if you're stopped in a Fed building at metal detector, see how that flies, I guess.

You could be a gunsmith or a dealer selling to fed LEO's. Or putting on some sort of exhibit or training for the feds that requires a firearm. Or you are at a military base that allows hunting or target match.

I doubt the feds think too much about our carry licenses. I went to a presidential library with metal detectors and I will say you probably will not get a gun in. I left mine in the car. I did read about a guy at a post office who got fined a small amount maybe 100 bucks...but I believe those are treated different than say a US Courthouse, pres library, or say the fed reserve bank branches. They all have guards, metal detectors, X Ray machine...you just can't even get in unless there on business or a tour.
