Could anybody tell me a little about this gun? It is a S&W 7-Shot 2 1/2" bbl, .357 in Stainless. Like new, what would be a low and a high price??

Thanks

... just read where I'm not to ask questions like this, but I have a chance to buy this gun and can't even find one like it on the net.

Your question is fine if you're looking to buy. The problem comes when folks ask these question looking to sell.

BTW - Gunbroker will give you a pretty good idea of the market on these.

Here's one. See if it looks like this.

Smith and Wesson 686+ 357Mag, 2 Inch, Stainless Steel, Red Ramp Adjustable Sights, 7rd

$700 seems a bit high to me, but not way high.

Almost new in box? I'd say... Low $525, High $625. Just my guess. $575 would be about right.

Just my $.02

Edited To Add: Says 2-inch in the title, but it should actually be a 2.5-inch barrel.

The only one I've ever seen in person, for sale, was priced at $699 (this was at a gun-shop), but that may have been new. Either way, $700 is definetly on the high end of the scale, especially for a private sale... $600 would probably be more reasonable.

I bought mine new awhile back, before they came out with that stupid lock. It was 569.00 plus tax. It is a 686 Plus.

Good deal. Inflation has taken its toll since then.

I want to remove the internal lock on my S&W eventually. I am also saving my pennies for some gunsmithing work on it. I guess I'll do both around the same time, since either one voids the warranty.
