Hi, I would like to know the average prices paid for stainless steel 5" Kimber and Springfield Armory 1911s in Tennessee. Thanks for any input.

It depends on the Kimber, they make numerous models.

You could save some time and check out Hero Gear's pricing in the Vendor Section, Joe's having a blowout on Kimbers right now. Even after shipping and FFL charge on your end and you'll still save a ton a $$.

Kimber's are going to start at around $1000; but you can get into a SA 1911 well under a grand.

Thanks for the info. I have seen several Kimbers, but I have yes to decide on a model. I know for certain that I like the SA loaded black stainless 1911. I am saving money to make a purchase soon unless I find a 6.8 flat top upper that I like first.

I like the idea of the Kimber Crimson Carry, but I don't think that it is 5 inches. I have the CTC laser grips on four of my guns and that's always a plus when I make a purchase.

Kimber Crimson does come in 5" and they are all the same price, they can be had for $1050-1100, You can get an SA Loaded for $850 all day long, sometimes cheaper. I saw a 5" SA Loaded at a gun show in Jan marked down to 779$. A good rule of thumb is to check like Budsguns or Impact guns and then add about $100 and thats a reasonable in-store price. Online prices are cheaper but once you add $35 shipping and $25-50 FFL transfer your better off to just buy a gun you can see (unless its REALLY cheaper)

As far as Kimber's go:

Custom = 5 inch model

Pro = 4 inch model

Ultra = 3 inch model

Please tell me where to find the SA 1911 for under a grand. I went to five shops today including one in MS and could not find a loaded for under a grand. Not only that, most of the SA 1911 pistols that I saw were priced similar to the Kimber pistols which pushed the Kimber pistols further up my list.

I wanted to do a trade +cash, but they tried to steal my trade so I left(no, I did not expect to get what I paid...not even close). I will have the money to purchase out right in a few weeks and I will buy from Buds or someone else online. This bs.

I bought my SA Mil Spec from Great Outdoor Store in Jackson for 619.99 plus taxes and bg check.They had to order it but it was worth the wait.

What are you trying to trade?

I was thinking about trading my g36 or M&P fs45. I think that I would rather keep them and just pay cash for my new gun. I expect to take some loss on a sale or trade, but I don't want to be ripped off especially after I over paid for it during "The Great Obama Scare". That was a good price on your mil-spec. What were they selling the loaded models for? I may drive to Jackson if they have decent prices. Does the GOS have a website?

I made this statement before knowing you wanted a "loaded" Springfield Armory (Mil-Spec models can be had for around $600)

Have you contacted Guns and Leather or Hero-Gear? Right now, Hero-Gear is running a very decent promotion on Kimbers, check out his Thread in the Vendor Section under Hero-Gear.

I bet if you called around you could find one under $1000

if its a true SA Loaded for over a grand they are asking TOO much!. Now there is a loaded TRP that sells for $1300 and that comes with checkered front strap, beveled extended mag well and some other extras, just making sure we're comparing apples to apples. your best bet may be online, sorry Im in knoxville so I cant help much with local stores

They wanted just under $1500 for the TRP (3 in stock). Had they offered a little more for my pistols I would have paid the difference and purchased the TRP. I have no problem with businesses making a profit, but after all the weapons that I have purchased from these guys at jacked up prices I am fed up. I will find my gun online and have it transfered to Range USA from now on. It's not just me. They low balled some other guy on his shotgun while I was standing there. I want a gun shop that makes me feel good when I walk thru the door especially after I have spent thousands of dollars with them. They should know that I am a buyer and I should be treated accordingly.
