^ I looked up the fighter squadron. VFA-103 is currently deployed on the Eisenhower.

15 years ago when my father was still with us we took a trip to Gulf Shores and drove over to Pensacola Naval Base and where able to get a tour of that ship. My 2 sons were 8 and 9 at the time. It is a trip I will never forget and the boys got to sit in the Captians chair on the bridge. I never had a photo of that ship until now. Tell your son thank you for his service and bringing back fond memories.

Great pics,tell him we all send thanks for his service! When the weather is nice and the sea is clam, the gulf is nice , except for the heat. My first trip to the gulf was 74, before it got "popular". My fondest years in the navy were as a "tincan' sailor, DDG11 USS Sellers, and DD975 USS John Hancock. Here's wishing him, "Fair winds and following seas".

I got 26 pics today from the carrier running along side of my sons ship.They came in a word doc and Im not sure how to post.It may take a couple days but I will get them posted.You guys will love these.

It's still strange to me to see a picture of a carrier and not see any A-6's or F-14's.

Of course, I'm sure the men before me would say the same thing about A-7's and F-4's.
