Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings

They are quick release rings that i'm considering for my new Sig556 DMR. Since it is a heavier weapon in 5.56 I think they would be able to hold position on the rail, and still offer quick release. I want to put on some back-up folding iron sights as well.

Larue makes some nice quick disconnect mounts that re-mount and the return to zero is very very close. I know most are "AR" mounts, but with a mil spec rail they should work. As for scopes partial to Leupold myself, excellent glass and service

if you need it is second to none.

Agreed, Leupold does make good scopes, but I have a SWFA SS on my Savage Model 12 .308, and I feel that I get a lot more bang for my buck with it. Leupolds were crapping-out on Rangers while the SWFA kept on impressing. And since it's $300 versus $1,300, I'll stick with the SWFA.

I had a set on a Steyr Scout, you couldn't make a full rotation so you would have to pull the lever out and do 1/2 turns. It was a pain and if you weren't careful you would scratch the receiver. May or may not have the same issue with the DMR? I didn't keep them so I really can't comment beyond that.

There's the Warne and Talley's too to think about but I'm not sure if the angles on the levers are any different...

On a side note most of the LaRue's are set up for AR's (high tube) as far as height. I have a friend that didn't like the high LaRue Aimpoint mount on his 556 and swapped it for one of the shorter ones. These are the exception LaRue Tactical Ultra-Low Mount Rings QD LT719

After using the Leupold QRW's for for 10 years now.. I can say that I have not had one problem with them.. I shoot highpower and long range.. switching from irons to scope is a breeze and my zeros don't change.. go with them.. you will be ok.

I saw those from Hgunner's link, and I bookmarked them. It helps to get validation, thanks.

I've had a Springfield M1A Scout/Squad for a few years. I spent the first couple of years with iron sights and since then have used a Leupold 4x28 extended eye relief scope. While I love the scope, I sometimes miss the iron sights.

Has anyone installed Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings on an M1A

If you are looking for easy on/off and return to zero, I highly recommend the ARMS #22's. They are not particularly cheap (+/- $120) but I have mounted and dismounted my scope several times during various classes and qualification work outs with absolutely no loss of zero. They come in low, medium and high mount, I recommend the highs for a flat-top AR.

The scope is a Countersniper Optics 1X4.
