A good day at the range

My wife and I went out to do some shooting yesterday. It finally warmed up enough to go out and spend some time without freezing fingers. The main reason was to try out her new-to-her Kahr CW40. She has a Ruger LCR and found the recoil on the high side for her, even without +p. The CW40 seems to have less recoil than the LCR. I think she found her new favorite.

We only ran one box of ammo through, but had no issues with it whatsoever. Now I need to start stocking up on another caliber.

.380 more recoil than .40 s&w? interesting

LCR 38 Spl, not LCP .380 :D My J frame Smith is too snappy for my wife and it is probably less recoil than the LCR. I agree on the Kahr CW40 though. It seems like Kahr would be very snappy, but I've never shot one, so I honestly can't say.

She describes the LCR as biting more in the web of her hand. The Kahr is snappy, but a lot more controllable. She has a sore hand after only 50 rounds with the LCR. She shot a box of 40 with the Kahr and her only problem was the bottom of the slide catching her thumb.

On the 380, a fellow shooter let her try his Taurus TCP. She said the recoil was nothing compared to the other two.
