I'm Back. 2556 miles.

Road trip points:

1. When running from Evanston Wyoming to Laramie with an average highway speed of 120-140 mph, that black stuff down the side of your car isn't road grime, it's tire particles. (And I never did catch that Mercedes 550).

2. When the dog starts scratching at the window... It really needs to go and like, NOW...

3. If you explain to the Warrenton Missouri Police officier that you were doing 75 in a 55 because you have been unemployed for 10 months and are on your way to a new job back at home in Nashville, they will give you a verbal warning.

4. Keep your 24 0z coffee cup from Cle Elum Washington that you got at 5 am. Instead of $1.25 coffee, it's like 50 cents for hundreds, thousands of miles...

By the way, if any of you are interested, the Lexus SC400 is speed limited. When you get to 145 mph the engine starts cutting out.

Hells on wheels!

Welcome back!

I picked up my suppressors in Denver from "my safe", but didn't have room for any weapons or ammo. I'll be flying back the first week of April to pick up my wife and stuff, head back through denver and pick up my guns... Uhaul style... I'll be ramblin...

Yeah, but what about your gas mileage? I thought you would be Hypermiling on a trip like that. Al Gore is not going to be happy about your blatant consumption of fossil fuels, and just think of the carbon footprint you left!:blah::)

With all the cold and snow around here lately, Al Gore is probably not to be found easily. If you see him, tell him to call his office. ;)

Now why in the heck did you have to bring Al Gore into a welcome back? Give the

guy heartburn. Welcome back:D Glad you got a job!

sounds like a fun trip. I sold my last car before I killed myself in it. Had a 2003 maxima that would cut off around 143!

Surprisingly, on the one tank of gas I got in Evanston, I got 16.7 mph. I attribute this to the car's drag coefficient of 0.3 (the lowest for a mass produced car). My entire trip averaged 22.8. That carbon footprint was left primarily on the side of the vehicle. what caught me by surprise was the tread wear was terrible. The tires exhibit terrible wear (they were cheap, came with the car). I will need new tires shortly.

Elapsed time?

My best from North Bend Oregon to Tampa Fla, was 44 hours in a olds station wagon.
