What are you unsure of? Love my Bersa Thunder 380 - wish they hadn't jumped in price when everyone figured out they were a good gun at a GREAT price.

Negative here on the 45 last time around. FTF etc. I lost that

posting, but will keep looking.

A friend has both the Thunder 45 and Thunder 9. He also has a couple of hundred other guns. We have shot the tar out of that gun and marvel at its reliability. I personally don't like the trigger geometry, but that is due primarily to some surgery I had on my hand.

The question I would ask is "What are you trying to achieve?" If you are looking for a reliable knockabout value pistol in .45 that would be it. For a bit more there is value shooting in .45 with the compact Glocks, S&W M&Ps, XDs, Springfield Milspec 1911s and I suppose some others.

Just thinking black bear country on the mountain bicycle. The CZ 75 B

is probably adequate for that, however, the Bersa fits well

and appears to be of good quality.

I'm happy with mine no issues at all. you may or may not like the grip. I have several thick grip compacts.

The weapon feels ok. That's the one thing for sure. Would like

to fire it, but at the price, can't break the bank.

Thank each of you for your remarks.

Based on all this information, got Bersas.

The Bersa .45 Ultra Compact Pro is just fine for me. Wanted a

decocker to carry. It actually hits the target in a 7" patern

low and to the right from 28 yards. From that same spot with

the CZ 75B Omega, there is often a complete miss on the

8"x10" target, but normally hits to the right from top to bottom

of the 10 inches. Lot of practice needed.

Got the Bersa 380 CC ACP in black. Opted for it over the CZ 82

because of the decocker. Some times I hit the 8"x10" target

from the same 28 yards.

All my shooting is free-standing.

For bears I think I would have gun the wheel-gun route (357 or 45lc) but thats just me....enjoy that Bersa!

Well, I did. Had the Judge and coudn't get .45 Long Colt ammo,

so traded it off. Then looked at some other wheel guns and just

liked 17 rounds of 9mm better than 5-6 rounds. Eight rounds

with big Bersa and another 7 round magazine. Let's see now,

ZC 75B with five 16 round magazines and big Bersa with two 7 round

magazines for a total of 96 rounds counting 1 in each chamber.

If I'm on the black bear menu, I'll likely know. They circle I'm told.

The reports show that they go for a solo woman or woman with

children.

Black bear hunters have some interesting tales. Like hunting with

a .22, not legal I hear. And a single bear killing a pack of hunting

dogs.

Anyway, that's what we have here in East TN and I'm not going

into brown bear country.
