Pics from Haiti

Some of you may remember a few weeks back I told you that my wife was going to Haiti for a couple weeks. She is a Dr on a federal disaster team based here in TN. She is now home safely and I thought I would share a few pics from her trip.

This little guy was one of the biggest struggles for my wife. He is 5 months old, both parents were killed in the quake. His aunt brought him into the clinic hoping to find someone to take him to America. He is actually a U.S citizen. Pretty sure my wife wanted to put him in her bag and bring him home.

Every time I see pictures like this, I'm angrily reminded of the constant liberal trash-talking we are sometimes forced to listen to from America's enemies, within and without, about how Americans are so evil, and boastful. Spoiled and destabilizing. We are always referred to as 'occupiers' rather than 'liberators.'

But yet...

When disasters strike, anywhere in the world, at any time, under any national economic uncertainty...the very first response of aid is from the United States of America.

Americans by in large, are the most giving, generous, bravest and most considerate populations that ever graced the big green and blue ball.

Your wife represents what is good, and right with this country. God bless her. He will.

I will never be an apologist. This is still the greatest country on the planet, in history, any where. Call us whatever you will, because when disaster comes knocking, you'll call us first.

And we'll be there.

You can't deny the few times when you get lib. stars organizing benefits for Katrina and Haiti.

And regarding that soap box, you should have done a stage dive! You're still young.

Oh, I agree. But it is often for their image.

Whereas the true dirty work is being done by good-ol regular folks like you, and me, and Pitt's wife.

Thanks for the pics and thanks to your wife. My Dad went on 6-8 church mission trips to Haiti ending about 8 years ago. I've seen many pictures from there. If you've never been to a place like that, it's hard to comprehend just how bad is really is. They worked at L'Hopital St. Croix in Leagon which was very near the epi-center of the quake. When they finally got word from the missionaries who lived there, they said the structures he helped build were the only things left undamaged.
