You may have seen a couple of my posts about the restraunt/grocery my friends are opening.

We opened last Friday to a very warm welcome from the local community.

Fri. we did 176 dinners. Sat., 200. This in a 50 seat dining room.

Of course it was a zoo, but things will settle down when we get our routines set.

We're open Mon.-Sat. 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 or 8:00 P.M. (we'll see how it goes).

Typical breakfast, meat & 3 lunch and dinner, handmade burgers, and dogs.

Fri nights - all you can eat fish, of course, plus regular menu. Sat. night hand cut rib eyes!

A small grocery for staples for the locals and gas/diesel pumps, it's a 15 mi. drive to town.

What really sets us apart, when you walk in, you'll see the baby grand piano. We also have a couple of guitars, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle for customers use.

It's called "Pleasant Shade Restraunt and Grocery"

725 Pleasant Shade Hwy.

Pleasant Shade, 37145

615-677-0000

Located on Rt. 80 halfway between Carthage and Red Boiling Springs.

This is a prime motorcycle tour route in good weather so you folks on two wheels are always welcome. A lot of good paved parking, and a large grass lot next door.

The official Grand Opening is this comming weekend.

And as stated: it's not now or ever will be posted!

Lastly, I'd like to thank David here for allowing me to plug a new business!

According to the phone book, it's 725 Pleasant Shade Highway, Pleasant Shade, TN 37145. (On State Rt. 80) Just over the hill from Cordell Hull Lake.

And that ain't a misprint on the phone number ... it really is 615.677.0000. I'm not affiliated with these good people or with the store, but I'll give props for the food. It's good. And, the prices are very reasonable. Lots of complimentary talk from many folks who visited on Friday night and Saturday. (I didn't get to sit down and eat, but had a "to-go" order picked up. Tasty!)

I can't believe you're not posting! There is going to be blood all over your place from the shoot outs caused by the lunch crowd.

Can you give the physical address so that I can put it in my GPS to know how far the drive will be?

Total Travel Estimate: 1 hour 16 minutes / 68.71 miles

Not too bad of a drive. Is the food guaranteed to be worth the ride?

It is if you like country cooking.

Yesterday for lunch we cooked a huge roast beef, made some real au ju, and mashed potatoes. (I peeled every one of those suckers. Just like KP back in the day.:usa:)

Today baking a ham and making turkey & dumplings. Along with 1/2 lb. burgers.

BTW. Grand opening is this Saturday. Come on down!

Sorry, probably won't make the grand opening. Wife's BD is Sat., and i suspect that she will want to head to the "city" for entertainment, shopping, etc.

WILL try to make it up your way next week, so don't run out of food before then.

(BTW, when's the next dumpling dish planned? Got a weakness for dumplings. 'Course, got a weakness for steaks, burgers, and purt near anything else that tastes good.)

It's a shame I just heard about this. The wife and I were looking for somewhere to go in the convertible yesterday. Maybe in a week or two.

What are the operational hours?

Got it -

Mon.-Sat. 6:00 A.M. to 7:00 or 8:00 P.M.

I'm going to C.I.S. in March so I'll stop by for lunch or dinner on the 13th. You're not too far out of the way. You got a website up yet?

Hi folks, A couple of answers for you.

Pics. Sorry, it seems that all through demo and construction, no one was taking photos! There's a camera around, but nobody ever used it. All to busy doing something.

Hours. Mon-Thurs. 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Fri.- Sat. 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

No Sundays yet. We need 1 day off.

It's kind of like the old days when every community had it's own little store. It's becomming a place to sit around tell stories, play music, admire cars or bikes, and just generally be the only only place within 15 miles to hang out.

Besides the locals and musicians hanging around, it seems the reigonal LEO's are stopping in a lot, it's probably the safest place outside of a State Police Barracks. :D

When the weather warms up, I'll get the motorcycle out and ride out there. Damn Jeep eats too much gas up to drive from S. Nashville.

Checked out the restaurant tonight. Food was great. Looks like you are going to have to expand to handle the crowd. It was worth the wait though.

+1 on the food. It's only outstanding.

Good company, good food, and very reasonable prices. I've tried the fish, the burgers, a steak ... it's all good. Don't forget to sample the slaw. Best I ever ate.

If you're lucky, somebody there will be playing a tune on the guitar or piano. Great food, free entertainment. Got my money's worth, and then some.

Bump / Update on the Pleasant Shade Restaurant ...

Great food, reasonable prices, really good folks running the place, and outstanding service. They are now open Sundays from 11 to 2 (I think). I've tried everything on the menu (pretty sure that's true), and so far, it's ALL good. Favorites, though, are the ribs and the fish. The missus favors the steaks.

Again, not affiliated with this spot, but I like to share when I find something I like. Only drawback is that I may have to buy bigger britches.

Friday and Saturday nights, you might have to wait a while. They are BUSY ... but usually, somebody's pickin' and grinnin' ... so free entertainment. If somebody's NOT providing the entertainment, it appears that the floor is open to anybody waiting for a table.

And yeah, they are carry-friendly ...
