how about just this:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.

That should cover everything we need to do with this hyena. If

we don't, we'll be living in a different country.

Didn't Australia confiscate citizens guns via the UN ban treaty? I'm thinking that nobody in Washington (including Obama) wants to buck the second amendment is looking for ways around it, e.g., UN treaties.

We need to get off of this UN "world order" thing. the UN is a very weak and ineffectual sounding board for the conscience of liberals world wide. it cannot enforce anything. It can't agree on anything. It could not influence events in some of the most backward and vulnerable African and Balkan nations, they still fought their wars and gave the UN the finger. It possesses no troops of its own. It borrows some pretty sorry "gangs" of troops from some of the smaller members, but then hampers them with restrictions that keep them from doing anything.

Their treaties cannot be enforced. The treaty was about shipping weapons across national borders, something we already want to restrict (and do). It has nothing to do with the laws internal to the U.S.

The only time anything gets done is when they cry uncle and ask us to intercede. We have enough to worry about and concentrate on inside the U.S to waste time worrying about influence from the outside.

Really folks, this administration has little hope for re-election as it is, and one doesn't have to be a political genius to realize that even an inkling of an attack on the second amendment would lower his already dwindling approval rating to the point where he may as well resign. This whole anti-gun scare has no real basis in fact, but did manage to generate many billions of dollars for the failing economy, and I often wonder if it isn't a well designed hoax intended to do just that...generate sales in a flat economy. Fear is the most powerful tool mankind has to get results

Obama's original agenda had socialized medicine sailing smoothly into law last summer, followed quickly by Cap and Trade. By their pre-election timetable we should be finishing up Comprehensive Immigration Reform, i.e. naturalization of every illegal alien in the country followed quickly by their assimilation into a permanant majority Democrat party, just about now.

That accomplished, his gun control agenda would have passed easily.

The only reason we aren't there yet is that the People have managed to make themselves heard ................... but Obama, his handlers, and his minions keep on pushing .............

+1 Stonewall. If the Dems manage to some form of their bill (as they're trying to do now), they know the Reps/Inds won't repeal it and they'll just bide their time until some crisis gives them another opportunity to expand it. Don't discount the "one world" governance thing; it's been on the "Top 3 Things to do Today" list of the Marxists/Fabian Socialists for over 100 years now. They're a very patient bunch.

And using the model of the dialectic (Hegel?), who knows? Maybe this baby step is what they'd figured on all along.

Don't kid yourself in thinking he couldn't get reelected. Bill Clinton proved that. After the Assault Weapons Ban and the HillaryCare attempt he succeeded. Remember all that money Obama hasn't spent from the Stimulus

Bill. That's going to be spent the same way as every other dollar he's spent:

buying votes.

The good thing about treaties is they have to be ratified and not by 50% +1 vote. There are a lot of treaties that have been signed that don't have the force of law and probably will never will. Thank God for the founding

fathers wisdom on that.

6.8 AR, point taken. The liberal left does have a way of emerging on top despite the fact that America is largely a conservative nation; however, I do think that the center to right wingers are much less complacent than they have been in the past and will be paying much closer attention in 2012. Also, I am not contradicting the notion that Obama and Democrats in general would love to do away with gun rights; I'm simply stating that they know it would be political suicide to pursue that agenda and that the whole "gun and ammo scare" was more of a public overeaction than a genuine threat. I feel the NRA and the firearms industry were instrumental in, and more than happy to escalate that overeaction to their benefit.

When we get a Republican president who revokes the Second under the Ezecutive Powers act you'll all be screaming the exact same words you're screaming now!

Gun control is the third rail of politics. BHO (and George Soros) thought the enactment of Obamacare would give him the leverage to control any activity he wanted it to, including ownership of firearms, by virtue of its impact on medical care costs. His plan -- an obviously flawed one -- was that the financial downturn from his government-mandated health care plan wouldn't be felt until after the 2010 election. But the non-Maxists caught on sooner than he (and George Soros) had expected and put the brakes on Obamacare. And after the 2010 election, it's unlikely it can be resuscitated. BHO (and George Soros)'s only hope for 2012 is immigration amnesty and fast track citizenship to turn those 15-20 million currently illegal Mexican aliens into registered Democrats.

Calling him a Marxist and Hitler at the same time does not compute.

That said, he is a politician. Some here forget, he floated the idea of supporting the re-enforcement of the AWB via Holder, his Atty Gen. The response was loud and negative, even from his own party. And since he ran that up the flag pole and it got torn down, instead of saluted, he knows there is no support for it, if not severe dislike for it.

And as a politician, he decided not to press this, after the costs of the healthcare acts...

Does he want to get reelected? Heck, yes. So, I think he will not press this issue until sometime after the election. But, as the House is no longer Dem, the possibility of passage is not very high. Will he be elected? Considering the lack of effort by the GOP to get candidates actually into the race, its seems he will be...

Sorry, but that isn't provided for. A President can't revoke

an amendment to the Constitution, but he can certainly

do damage with EO's.

I just joke about this stuff because EVERYBODY is lying their ass off right now. There is a whole lot wrong with Obama (and all the others too), but some of the stuff that comes out is just laughable. The tragedy of it all is that they keep enough folks caught up in the smoke screen that it continues to give them the ability to screw us daily.

economy. It ain't about health care. Redistribution

of wealth isn't and never has improved anything or anyone's status in life, except to male them dependent

on someone else.

He wasn't saying Obamacare caused our woes right

now. It's for future woes.
