When you are offered a school and a job, take it. The USAF has

become very selective as have all branches of service. If you find

you like it, stick like glue. I would have made a "lifer", but they sent

me home after 40 years when I turned 60. Keep your nose clean

and work hard/smart. Take advantage of on base college courses,

stay sober, maintain your faith. There is a chapel and chaplain on

each base. Let us know how you do.

I want a bachelors of science then in the future get a Masters in Aerospace Engineering and try to work for Boeing. Sorry to rant in your thread i just don't find a lot of USAF guys on the internet or in real life so i never really get to ask them questions about it and to be frank i don't trust a lot of the things the recruiter tells me.

Sounds as though you have the where-with-all to get an education

and become a commissioned officer. That said, check out ROTC in

your college. Resist the recruiter now. He/she needs you for the

number. They are fine, and must do their job. You must think it

through and do the correct thing for yourself. The recruiter can't

look at you and see what is in your boiler. At any rate, you can't

find a better start than any branch of the armed forces, and of

course, I'm partial to the USAF.

When I was a boy of 12, I spent a year at a little school

called Stone Cave just out of Dunlap. Last year I rode the Sequatchie

Vally bicycle century. I chose to ride the 25 mile ride and had a wonderful

day.

I was up in Greene County last year. We went to the Iris Fest with a good friend that lives in Bean Station. Nice part of the State.

The only Stone Cave I know of is about 2 miles out of town on rt 28.

I have only been in Dunlap a little over 4yrs. Wish I could of moved here sooner. I have done some biking, but mine was on a Harley.

we had to swim that to go on back to very large and steep areas. The

cave is now sealed with concrete. It supplies fresh water and there is

a fresh water stream that flows from it to the farm land. I was baptized

in that stream at the age of 12, and that is where I learned to swim.

No longer a school there. There is a sign out front regarding a health

food store.

I see you like the .380's have you tried the new Walther PK 380?

My first 380 was a Colt Mustang plus II, next a Bersa. I traded the Bersa for a Walther PPK/S. Bought the PK 380 in Feb. and traded the PPk/S for a Rock Island 1911 Tactical .45. The Mustang was traded for a Smith & Wesson 386 Sc/S 38/357 a few years ago. I think the Pk 380 is going to be the keeper it a good combo with my Walther P22. Also had a Ruger LCP that I didn't care to much for so I sold it and picked up a Ruger LCR. I guess I'm old school when it comes to a carry piece and would rather have a wheel gun then a auto.

that way. The Chattanooga bicycle club will probably have another

Sequatchie Valley Century in the Fall.

You have some nice guns. Some good trading there. Never owned

a 1911. They must be nice. The LCR is nice too.

Anyway, I've not tried the Walther PK 380. If it shoots as well as the

P22, it is a fine one. My P22 hits the target at 25 yards for me. Don't

guess I'll be getting a PK 380 any time soon. I have to pay as I go

because I've not traded a gun that I didn't later regret. So, no longer

trade guns. I just bite the bullet and pay.

OK, what do I like? I like a gun with a decocker. So, that said, the

Bersa Thunder CC .380 is high on my list of the ones I own. The

safety/decocker is small and very ulikely it will ever be moved by

accident. Takes pratcice to opperate.

The Sig p238 is user friendly. It is a cock and lock. It has big gun

sites. It is accurate in low light with the night sites. The LCP is accurate

when lighting is such to see the small sites.
