Had a great time! I'm up for shooting some evening during the week if anyone wants to try it. :D

As for the next get together... we'll plan one for January and try to keep the momentum going!

Thanks to everyone for coming out! I had a GREAT time! Thanks to all who let me have a go at their pistols (and lever gun :D ) today.

Big thanks goes out to the BlueCanary for sharing the lane (and costs) with me. Helped offset the 200 rounds of .45 :(

I missed this outing as I had unexpected guests arrive in town on Friday. They couldn't see the fun in going to range. :(

That's the idea. Go ahead and plan it for the same weekend next month, same time, and all of that stuff. Then by Feb. everybody will have had enough time to clear out their schedule for the monthly TGO shoot and you won't have to worry about all this can we do it here, can we do it there BS. You can't please everybody.

EDIT: It's good to here you guys finally got to pull one off. It's great meeting all these guys on here. Maybe sometime next year, we could plan one big honkin TGO meet for those that aren't afraid to drive a little.....Maybe if Hero Gear can get his ducks lined up.:(

I think that's a great idea. Maybe find a place where we could meet and either get a motel room or camp and shoot at someone's private range (farm?). I enjoy camping, but understand the needs of "Ramada Rangers", especially if the wife comes along.

It was great to meet everybody yesterday! I didn't get to chat with many but the folks at my end of the table during the meal, but I'm thrilled that we had such a successful turnout... I think I counted 18 at one point!

It was a blast to shoot with everybody, thanks to everyone who let me shoot their guns... musicman, you've got one helluva set of wheel-guns, I'm envious. Disney, that Kimber definitely was in the top three of 1911s I've ever fired... it is a thing of beauty when one can pick up a gun for the first time and effortlessly make one ragged hole.

Me & my plastic guns were nothing special, but I hope that everyone who wanted to got to experience .357sig properly.

Thanks to everyone for generously allowing my wife to shoot their guns... I think she shot every pistol at the whole range...

Looking forward to January!

I am so sorry not be able to make it yesterday for the the meet/eat/and sheet .... doesn't sound quite right.

Tungsten, I havealways wanted to shoot at night. Most of my dangers are at night... no ALL of my troubles are at night. I would like to shoot, if nothing more to meet you AND train AND have a good time.

PM me and I will talk about times.

You know, it's a shame that we don't have a middle TN version of Phantom6 with land and a private range to shoot at.

I was just looking at Bob-E's photos from this past weekend and recalling that the guys who rented the HK SMG had muzzle raked me a few times to the point that I finally walked over and told the guy to keep the damn barrel pointed at the floor or down range. I'm sure he thought I was a real a-hole for that, but I'd rather be the a-hole who left the range walking instead of in a body bag or on a stretcher because some assclown was exercising poor muzzle control.

Sorry, did I just go off on a rant?

I was right next to them... They seemed pretty harmless, judging by their target.

They did alarm me a few times though. I thought you did the right thing.

Yeah there were a couple of idiots there. I wandered out to the front to get another target and there was a real high class member of society asking about the legality of firing in the air on New Years Eve. He was swinging a silenced auto around.

I have an acquaintance that has a 600 yard range on his land. I have talked shooting with him a time or two before but he has never mentioned inviting anyone out to the range to shoot. Very nice friendly fellow but like many who would be inclined to build a range in the back 40 he may not be very friendly about others wandering around his land.

Congrats on pulling that off guys. Who'd a thunk it? :P

Hey, I like the idea of the statewide TGO meet and greet. Hope that it is planned for some weekend besides the second of the month as that's a business weekend for me and I'd hate to miss it.

While I have spent about half of my life waking up in a sleeping bag, a cot, both or wishing that I had the comfort of either, my wife on the other hand considers staying at a Ramada CAMPING! Ah, but what's a fella to do? I love her so. Besides, I've noticed recently that when I get up in the morning I hear all this snapping and creaking ....... even when I'm not walking on an old wood floor.:)

As long as it's after July 2nd, 2008, I'll finally be able to make it to one. :D

Now let's not get in a hurry....

Another forum that I operate usually has a track-day during the Spring so that really eats up a lot of time for planning and prep. Then people gripe about being outside all day shooting during the summer heat (wussies!) so that leaves Fall. ;)

Of course, you will only need to use your firearm to defend your life in fair weather.

There's only one way to solve that problem. Plan a day and tell everybody to come and go as they please. If they want to gripe and moan, let them do so on the ride home.

It sounds like you just signed up for our swamp shooting session!

This is true. But if we can plan it for a month that would be more pleasant for more people and get a larger turnout, then it sort of makes sense to try that don't you think?
