Got this for $5 bucks at Wally World. I use it on a daily basis at work. I have it on me at all times just in case SHTF.

+1 on the $5 Wally Winchester!

I never carried a lockblade before, just a pocketknife. but for the price, why not? A few days later, my son got a deer, I dove right in with this knife, made short work of skinning that deer. Unbelievably sharp for a new knife!

Went back and bought another, for when I lose this one. Inevitable...

I switch out between different knives often, though until recently mostly carried my SOG Twitch XL tanto as posted earlier in this thread. After seeing the Gerber Crucial, I ordered one and have been carrying it daily for the last week or so - I like it very much. The blade isn't great, but it allows me to have a nice set of tools on hand without carrying multiple items.

Thanks, MacGuyver!

Good to hear you like it.

You're right. It definitely doesn't have the best blade in my collection, but it does have a better one than the Leatherman it replaced. Come to think of it, I don't ever really use the blade, but am always using the pliers/screwdrivers. I like that the blade is a sheepsfoot design, but I really wish manufacturers would get over these half plain edge/half serrated blades. They both have their pros and cons, and by combining them, you take the pros of both away while gaining the cons of each.

Give me a straight plain edge, or a full serrated one. I'm smart enough to make the choice on my own.

I bought one of these (in black) about twenty years ago. Easily slips in the back pocket of a pair of jeans. The hexagonal cuts in the handle are actually wrenches (1/2" down to 11/32") for what it's worth.
