I'm having trouble with abbrevations

I'm new to this electronic exchange information. Folks use a lot of abbrevations when posting. What does "bbl" mean? My wife helps me with the common ones like "lol" and "idk" but some of the abbrevations used on this forum are specifacally related to firearms. Will you all help me with this? If their is others besides "bbl", please list them as well. Thanks :D

With regard to firearms, thats a common abbreviation for "barrel", as in gun-barrel.

I've seen it as an alternative to BRB, meaning 'be-back-later'...

...or it could be 'bye-bye-love'...

IIRC, it stands for Bore/Barrel or bore barrel.

Actually bbl is the standard abbreviation for a barrel barrel. Like a whisky barrel or oil barrel (drum).

Since guns have "barrels", same abbreviation. Why is a gun barrel called a barrel anyway?
