IDPA match with optional rifle side match @ Dickson, TN Feb 20th

Standard divisions for IDPA, the rifle match will be split into optics, irons, & .22 divisions.

I'm a complete noob. What kinda rifle does the side match require? It says 10 round max.

The 10 round max is for the starting magazine, just to force a reload on the stage to keep it kind of like IDPA.

Most guys will run AR-15's for these matches. Bring whatever you have for a rifle AR, AK, Mini-14, Carbine, pretty wide open especially with no steel on that stage you could run a Garand if you wanted. It's a blast come on out!

I am a newbie and never had any experience with this kind Match competetion. Can we visit the site and watch the match if we are not participating?

You are certainly welcome to just watch an event but I encourage you to bring your gear and shoot with us. If you have basic pistol skills and the ability to follow instruction you will be good to go. We always give new competitors a special brief to cover range commands and safety proceedures.

We encourage new shooter to experience a new type of shooting besides the standard range experience. This will be fun. As long as you have a serviceable handgun, strong side holster, magazine holder and 3 magazines then you will have all of the equipment needed. If there is something you need, let me know and I will see if I have it or arrange it being there to use. New shooters shoot the match for 5.00. If you come out, you will be back.

We had an absolutely great match today, the weather was perfect I even got a little sunburn on my face! Thank you to everyone who came out today to shoot with especially our new shooters. Also a big thank you to everyone who helped setup this morning and tear down this afternoon, without your help these matches wouldn't happen.

Please let me know if I have you in the right division and classification. We had a lot of sheets missing this info. Also had trouble reading some names so let me know if I mangled any names and we will get those corrected.

Scores were emailed if you didn't get them please send an email to matchdirector@mctsclub.com so that I can get them out to you.

Thanks Greg and co., that was an awesome match. Between the perfect weather and the fun stages I'd bet all the new faces will be back. After a day like yesterday a boring lane at some range seems kind of sad.

Looks like I need some sun-screen for my range bag...

Definatly a fun and challenging match. From the looks of the scores I need to go back to the Glock. The rifle side match was a blast also!!
