MSAR STG556

I went to Hero-Gear (Winchester) this past weekend and walked out with an MSAR STG556. I am very impressed with the design and manufacturing quality of this rifle. The bullpup design provides for an overall length similar to AR-15 with barrels less than 10".

I would be interested in hearing from other owners of this rifle and their experiences.

I got one (not E4) with the rail and I love it. The only things I dont like is the rail is rather high and the inability to shoot with a target sling.

If I was into the Magpul/tactical/VFG style shooting I would probably appreciate the AUG platform more. But I am not knocking the AUG and when I get more experience shooting like that I'll like it more than my AR's and Mosin (which I love btw. probably more than a person should)

Just got one from Bud's last week for $982 shipped. Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet (I'll correct that this weekend) but I'll post a mini-range report when I do.

Smith, I bought an older version and traded a bolt action rifle so the cost was high ($1600) compared to the going rate right now for the same rifle. Check Gunbroker.com to get some idea of the current prices. You can also check with RATWORX on the internet. Hero-Gear has a special edition version but I believe that is the only MSAR rifle they currently have. You can check with joe@hero-gear.com to determine their inventory.

I am very pleased with the ergonomics of this rifle and the quality of manufacturing. I orginally wanted the E4 version because it is the newest platform and will be the basis for a 6.8 version that will come out in the near future. That rifle was not available at Hero-Gear so I went with the STG556. Looks like I will have to buy the E4 version in 6.8 when it becomes available.
