Nit Picking?

Lately, it really bothers me when I see someone refer to a new weapon as a "new toy". Now, before you search all my threads, I will freely admit I have referred to firearm purchases in that manner also. Am I being silly? Am I nit picking? All I know is, it bothers me.

Yeah, but he who dies is still totally dead.

As I get older, the "toys" just get more expensive.

Honestly, I don't refer to my guns as "toys" in day-to-day life especially around my kids or family. I get what you are saying... complacency leads to accidents. I do enjoy shooting my firearms very much, though.

The difference is in just referring to it as a toy and not actually handling it like a toy.

It's not just a mans toy any more! :usa:We ladies like going to the guns store too!

grammar, spelling, clips or mags, toys, who cares?

I personally like to use whatever annoys people the most.

^^I really enjoy reading your posts, words of wisdom and I-don't-give-a-dammidness. You see that, I made up that ultra-hyphenated phrase just for you!

Don't annoy yourself. Go buy another toy. I took my latest toy to the range yesterday

and played. I am going to drink some more koolaid, too.

Bzzzt: Is that a grammer violation? :-).

My guns are toys. I've always owned at least a competent self defense handgun, but never could afford to buy stuff just because it's cool to own.

I have a couple of guns that I consider tools. a couple of others that could potentially be tools depending on circumstances. The others are really only toys.

They serve no purpose other than making me smile.

I don't care what anyone calls them but if someone is at the range and handling them like they are toys, then we have a problem!

Seems like alot of folks have a wee bit of "cabin fever" of late....must be all the snow and cold weather keeping em in!
