My brother took a free CCW class a couple of years ago led by a police officer. Does anyone know who, when, and where this class takes place, or does it no longer exist?

I think that is great that Mt. Juliet does that class.

But it says, "Students are issued certificates after successfully completing the course, which fulfills one of the requirements for receiving a handgun permit in the State of Tennessee."

I take this to mean it does not fulfill all of the handgun carry permit requirements.

What requirements are there other than the class, the fingerprints, the paperwork, the background check, and of course the money?

you got it...

they will give the class only...

you still have "fingerprints, the paperwork, the background check, and of course the money..."

question is, how much do they charge for prints? that may be the deciding factor on whether its worth the drive...my class was 75 it included the electronic prints

The money you pay to the state includes the printing and background check, I think it was 120.00 to the drivers license place ,they give you places to go get printed and you wait.
