Ok i am a little confused on whether or not carrying in restaurants(ex: Applebees, Ruby Tuesdays, etc..) is illegal or not. Im under the impression that as long as they don't post the proper sign to prohibit firearms, then it is ok. Can someone please clear this up for me. I just don't want to go carry somewhere i shouldn't. Also where should the signs be? Just on the front doors, inside, etc?

It is my understanding that, as of now, carry where alcohol is served is illegal. I left mine in the car today to have lunch with my brother at Ankars on 58, they sell beer. Makes no sense to me, but that is what we have now.

It is currently illegal to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol. A law was passed last summer that made it legal, but it was struck down by a judge saying it was unconstitutional due to the way it was worded. Appeals and new legislation are in progress.

NO it is not. It has been illegal since December when the new law was ruled unconstitutional. I sincerely hope that badge under your name doesn't mean you are currently a LEO....

Please take the badge away from your profile if you are going to post incorrect information. I sometimes wonder if people click that box without reading what they are clicking. I have friends on here that can verify my status, and I don't post law related answers unless I have TCA references to post with it.

After reading some of his other post and due to the fact he can't seem to find the caps lock key, I agree.

Speaking of that, I don't have friends here that can verify much of anything, but here's a pic of my old badge with certain info edited/PhotoShopped out. I haven't worn it in a dozen years now:

I realize it's nearly impossible to prove much of anything over the internet, but until I meet some of y'all in person, it'll have to do. :tinfoil:

( It's edited 'cause I just don't like advertising certain things over the 'net. )

I might be young and not as experienced as the rest of you all, but it would be nice if some of you could show some common courtesy and not be complete jack**** when a question that you feel is an easy answer. I hope some of you don't always post answers like this to everyone else who asks questions, it sure doesn't reflect the majority of the members on TGO. Thanks to those who answered me, it is obvious that i wasn't up to date on the new law, but this is what TGO is for.

OR, simple answer is at this time you are unable to carry your weapon where alcohol is being served.

Like all other opinion and advice, ya have to ignore the bad to get to the good, Welcome!!

You do know, don't you, that is's not that simple to say somebody can't carry a weapon where alcohol is being served. :tinfoil:
