Britain SUCKS!!!

When I was a young sailor in the eighties, I was there twice. Would you believe both times I was picked up by "bobbies" and turned over to Shore Patrol just because I chose to punch one of their citizens instead of listen to him run America down. They do suck and they are :D.

And yet here you sit on an open public forum doing the selfsame thing to England. If I were to come over & punch your lights out, I'd get f**king deported! ;)

The problem with England (NOT BRITAIN!!!!!) is that our Governments for the past several years have been making reactionary, knee-jerk policies concerning all weapons (& anything that could conceivably be construed as a weapon) to appease lefty, cotton-wool wrapping parents of childeren who are no longer allowed to experience, or even discover, how the world actually works. Everyone is so uptight that Little Johnny & Little Susan may get hurt (In any way) that the parasites in Parliment do there utmost to ban anything that may be deemed harmful.

Here's a small example for you......If I were walking down the street unarmed in any way, shape or form, made a gun shape with my fingers & pointed at an old lady, I would be guilty of Armed Threat. How f**king ridiculous is that?!?! You don't even need to be armed, all that needs to happen is for someone to be AFRAID THAT YOU MAY BE ARMED!!!

Replica handguns, blank firing handguns & certain toy handuns are classed in exactly the same light as the real thing! All our toy guns these days have to be orange!!!!!

All I can say is God Bless America (and thanks fo letting me in :D) but not everyone in England is as bad as y'all make out. Just them that make the rules :screwy:

I had meant to go back to the title after I posted the body of the text. I was thinking "Brits Suck!", but didn't know if everybody would know what that meant. Same with "Great Britain", but I couldn't write "Great" with a straight face. "Old Blighty Sucks!," but nobody knows that one either. So when I came back after I posted, it wouldn't let me correct it. Rob, you win the Internet today! Or is Interwebz? Or is it The Net? Or Gore's Net? Either way, you can have it!

The weather sucks also!!

One of the funniest quotes from the movie Snatch is when Avi gets to England and the following dialogue ensues (Taken from memory, so forgive me if it's not 100%)

Avi: Sit down and shut up you big bald ****. Now I don't like leaving my country for anything less than warm, sandy beaches, and cocktails with little umbrellas.

Doug The Head: Avi, we've got sandy beaches.

Avi: So? Who the **** wants to see 'em?

Wow. Why does that sound so familiar? Oh yea, because it's happening here too. We're just a few years behind in this trend.

Hey, we're glad to have you. And glad that you came to your senses sooner rather than later. ;)

Again, why does this sound familiar?

First 'anti-stab' knife to go on sale in Britain - Times Online

The first “anti-stab” knife is to go on sale in Britain, designed to work as normal in the kitchen but to be ineffective as a weapon.

The knife has a rounded edge instead of a point and will snag on clothing and skin to make it more difficult to stab someone.

It was invented by industrial designer John Cornock, who was inspired by a documentary in which doctors advocated banning traditional knives.

Mr Cornock, 42, from Swindon, said that the knife will cut vegetables, but will make it almost impossible to stab someone to death and will reduce the risk of accidental injuries.

He said: “It can never be a totally safe knife, but the idea is you can’t inflict a fatal wound. Nobody could just grab one out of the kitchen drawer and kill someone.”

The knife is expected to sell for around £40-50 and has been tested with “very favourable” results by the Home Office’s Design and Technology Alliance - set up to research products that can deter crime.

Hopefully they never learn that knive can cut throats.

It wasn't always a bad place. I actually went to school to study economics in London in the 90's before Ken Livingston and his socialist party took over London and Labor took over the commons. The beer was good, the public transportation was excellent, and the people were wonderful.

It wasn't a bad place then. Now you couldn't pay me enough to go there. Things really took a turn for the worse very, very fast. People can't do anything about it because they aren't in control of their own destiny. My co-worker is the controller for our UK subsidiary there and I truly feel sorry for him. They are actually having problems in his unit because the work ethic is so different. They simply don't work as hard as we do.

I was posted to the UK from 89-93 and spent most of my time in London and the surrounding area. Often I explained that the UK and the US were separated by a common language. As much as we were similar, we were very different. The UK is densely populated so if you compare the attitudes about firearm ownership in our large population areas and the UK, they are very similar. The primary differnce in the UK is that they do not have a constituion outlining the same rights of gun ownership as we do.

You should have seen the reaction I got when I showed up with a bunch of firearms from the US. I believe that they let me import those weapons only because I was an active duty LtCol and I argued that I had to retain my military proficiency. As it was, the local "bobby" came to my house to ensure that I had purchased a safe to secure the weapons. Turns out he was a great guy and we became friends.

Bottom line: I don't believe that the British Govt trusts the average citizen and believes that they must be limited in their firearms usage. Interestingly enough, when I was there, self protection was not a justification for owning a firearm. It is interesting to note that more and more of the law enforcement force is now armed in response to increases in criminal activity.

Yeah, their govt. arms up, but the citizenry can go suck an egg. Nice attitude. I'd be moving to America asap.
