I ran through this model line a while back. I thought they were nice. I prefer the variable. The 1x seemed to be very clear, but just a bit distant compared to the naked eye.

Have you looked at primary arms for optics? I love my m3 red dot. However, it's the only optic I have any experience with to compare.

Looks interesting, I may have to check pricing on it.

i got in yesterday guys, and it is a nice optic. red and green cross also has open sights on the top of the scope.

I shot it out to about 40 yards and it was right on also fast to recover after muti rounds

They are still $149 at academy. I was looking at them yesterday. The bus on top looks pretty useless though, non adjustable and WAY up there.

$149.00 is pretty cheap to give it a try.

I had one of these on my M4, and it did what it was supposed to...for the most part. Agreed that the sights on top are completely useless. Battery life is not very long, from what I experienced.

Rivergate Academy is $169. Fits great with flip up rear and will co-witness but it extends about 2 grooves forward of my flattop rail. It still clears the delta ring so I have no issue with that. I havent shot it yet but looks great and costs about $1000.00 less than the ACOG. Actually looked into the Barska with the same style but cant find it anywhere to touch, and feel it in my hands.

I have one of these. $150 shipped from Optics Planet. It is a very nice sight for the money, but a little on the heavy side with short battery life. Stock up on CR2032s.

It is fairly large, but I am able to mount it with my Troy BUIS still deploy-able for co-witness. I'll post pics later.

This is on the lowest red setting. The glass doesn't look that bluish/green in person.
