CNSNews.com - Hoyer: It's Good for People to Make Money Because Then They Can Pay Taxes

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D - Md.)

“We also had some good news for the first time in approximately two years,†said Hoyer at his weekly press briefing. “The projection of revenues has stabilized, not decreased. That is a very good sign because it is a sign that people are in fact making money and will be in a position, because they’re making money, to pay a portion of that in revenues to the federal government.â€

Whoo Hoo! I'm gonna go out and buy me a flat screen. Or another handgun.

Amazing how when politicians are running for office they all talk about 'working for you', 'serving the public', etc. But once they are in office, they act like we work for them. That's a sure sign that they need to be voted out.

I tell you boys, THAT mentality RIGHT THERE is partially what caused the Civil War, and itll be the reason for the NEXT ONE, too.

Too bad the portrayal doesn't match the actor. That was an interesting movie, though.

Hoyer is part of the machine trying to roll over us, Whip those votes and Whip us in shape.

If you are passionate about freedom, and recognize that your freedom to earn and produce are part and parcel of that ideal, it's time to educate yourself (if you haven't yet):

Amazon.com: Free to Choose: A Personal Statement (9780156334600): Milton Friedman, Rose Friedman: Books

Friedman writes conversationally, and any layperson (I'm one) can understand his ideas. Read it now.

Here's the original basis for Friedman's writings:

Amazon.com: The Road to Serfdom: Text and Documents--The Definitive Edition (The Collected Works of F. A. Hayek) (9780226320557): F. A. Hayek, Bruce Caldwell: Books

There has never been a more complete or devastating explanation of how collectivism destroys personal freedom. It's more academic, but well worth the read. Hayek earned the 1974 Nobel prize in economics for his ideas, put forth primarily in this short (< 200 pages) book.

Many TGO readers are all about training of the mind and body to prepare for SD situations. Reading these books and ingraining their principles are the same thing. Much like winning a gunfight, understanding the principles in these two books will prepare you to win in a fight of ideas, except that in a gunfight you can be right and still lose.

Anger is not enough - ideas and minds are the ammo in this battle.

If this works, here's a modern summary of the "spend our way out" Keynesians vs. Hayek, and his "save for real growth" school.

I think it's funny, but then again, I'm weird.

Keynes vs. Hayek rap video

Second half is Hayek FTW.

That is awesome.

Great video. Hayek got it right. Obama is doubling down on FDR's failed ideas. WWII

got us out of the Great Depression in spite of Keynes and FDR. So, your wierd, guess I am, too:D

Careful, Chuck. I'm pretty sure that F.A. Hayek is banned in Memphidishu, as are your old canvas shoes. Both are lacking the air-filled voids which are so in fashion these days.:P
