The ice storm I've mentioned was indeed Feb. of '94. ( Winter of '93 )

Edit: Maybe I go about it wrong, but I always think of winter belonging to the year it starts in, not the year it ends in.

I never get snow. Looking at less than an inch here currently.

I'd like to get a good, deep snow just once. I've got the woodstove, the generator, and the tractor. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

I second that. The year of the winter is the year it starts in, even though it is about 10 days of the year.

All you guys must be mistaken... Global Warming killed winter, don'cha know... Why, I remember when I was a wee lad standing hip deep in the snow in August....

This year winter must've started a bit early, Mike.

I seem to recall the big storm happening in March of 93. March 13 I believe. I was living in Asheville NC at the time. It couldn't have been 94, I was living in Georgia then.

Better break them back out, it is snowing again here in W TN. Been coming down for a little while and the grass is about covered. So hope ya'll haven't put them up yet.

Had 3.5" on the van before I cleared it off and drove to work this morning. Now I'm just waiting for the rain/sleet to start so the office can close and I get to drive back home in this crap!

Nothing here in Cleveland. It looks like we are in for more rain this afternoon, though.

Ah the storm of 93. I was "freezing" in Hawaii. Hey, it can get down into the low to mid 60's there on the North side of Waipahu where I lived. LOL

Who owned the property you stayed at? I understand that with the finite amount of real estate, the land owners of old have a firm grip on their land, and that most people live in rental situations.

Just looked at the TDOT cameras for Memphis and the interstates look relatively clear. My brother drives a truck from Nashville to Memphis and back everyday so your weather there interests me.

Not a flake so far. Out In Murfreesboro now.

I'm not worried, we rarely get over 3-4" here. Even if we do I've got wood stacked high and lots of beer. No worries about work since today was my Friday.

Here's to the "impending" whiteout.

I assume that is for me?

Where I lived (Wapio part of Waipahu)was a rental single family house. Owned by a fella that also lived in Waipahu. You are correct, some lands are only leased and have been built on. Usually those leases were long term but at the end the person/people who built on it can lose the structure if the actual land owner doesnt renew the lease. Most of the long term leased land is generally along the coast or cultural spot, like where H-3 went up the Pali. It only took them what, 30 years to build that interstate? LOL

Looks like Nashville is about to get smacked with some snow. I'm guessing we'll get just under 2 inches.

We've got an inch here already, and more pouring down.
