I've never really listened to their music. Until now. I got it earlier today, but after helping with the Xmas shopping, I have forgotten who gave me the link.

If none of you picked up on it, it's a National Gaurd tribute, but it fits nonetheless.

National Guard units are running missions beyond the wire in Iraq every hour of every day in a professional manner, facing death or dismemberment just as the regular professional active military types are. Often times they are denied promotions and citations for meritorious service because they are "just Guard", not regular military. While there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that most every individual on the tip of the spear as well as those in the rear that make it possible for the spear tip to do it's job deserve our profound gratitude and sincerest thanks but from troops that I know, it is the National Guard that often times gets the shorter end of the stick when it comes to advancement, medical services and recognition.

Citizen Soldiers have been a proud part of our state's history since 1780 when Col. John Sevier called for "100 good men" - and 200 answered. In 1846, a call went out for 2800 Volunteers from the State of Tennessee to take part in the War with Mexico. 38,000 Tennesseans answered the call earning the Tennessee Militia (now officially known as the TN National Guard after a legislative act passed by the 45th General Assembly in 1887) the ever-lasting nickname of "Volunteers."

Without the Guard units, the U.S. military could not do the job that we demand of it.
