Opinions on Mc Cann Scope Mounts for the M14/M1A

I can get one for about the same cost as a ARMS #18.

I have used the #18 on another rifle I had, and have used the 3rd Gen SA mount on yet another rifle.

I have seen pictures of this mount in use, but have not seen any feedback.

Hummm I have not seen that one.... I have the #18 on my M1A. What is the price range on that one?

I have found it between $150-$169.

Looking at getting it since it is around the same cost as a #18.

Let us know what you think of it.. I could not find many that have tried it on M14fl.com.

I will.

What did those that had used it have to say about it?

I should have written that there are threads with chatter about the mount but nobody has posted a review of the mount. Seems liek there is more chatter about the McCann carbon fiber stocks.

Did you meet the McCann guy at my shoot last June?

He had one mounted one of his rifles.

(As im sure you know) McCann makes great stuff, and many of their items have been ripped off by other (much larger) companies in the industry.

The price you quoted is a great price, but you may want to call out to WA. and talk to Jason.

He is the guy you (may have) met in June.

Remind him who you are, and im sure he will do what he can to hook you up.

*He is an old lightfighter 11B, so make sure you mention that you havent always been an Air Farce guy, and that you are a former grunt

Talked to the owner of McCann tonight for about an hour. I even threw in the former 11 series plug as well the the USAF stuff.

I have a scope mount enroute.

It sounds like the installation is a little more involved than other types, but not anything major or more than I have done before on M-14/M-1A platform rifles.

Will update as stuff happens.

Well it arrived.

Nice construction. Very well made.

Been busy at the base, but I have the installation half completed and have been taking pictures as I go.

When I get some time off in a day or two I will complete the install and post the pictures.

Well it is installed. Going to the range today with it.

Took it over to Oleg Volk's house because he asked for some pictures of it to send to McCann.

Taking Oleg to the range today also so we can see if it shoots as well as it looks.

To be honest on the install, I broke the drill bit so just went to the range with it like it was otherwise. I did use med-lock loctite on everything, but that is habit.

Went through about 100 rounds with nary a problem. Love it so far. weight isn't bad at all.

Oleg put about a mag through it too out to 300 yds. He loved the setup.

The rings are Badger Ordnance (IIRC) ones on a SS 10x42 scope.

The M1A + 10x scope + match ammo really worked. Even a newb like me could shoot well with that.
