I didn't write this, but it seems appropriate.

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of

entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit

and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

I tend to agree with that sentiment. But I think that Obama and the current rulers, combined with the Bush administration, have done a great deal to educate the American people. Bush was unpopular and most people wanted a change of direction. They got exactly that. They finally had a chance to see that "change" is not necessarily a good thing. Even more bailouts, even more rampant government spending, even more backroom dealing, even more cronyism, and even more government control over peoples everyday lives.

I have begun to be happy that Obama was elected. McCain would have been more of the same, a center-left moderate pretending to be a conservative. It seems that Obama has awakened the sleeping giant that is the American populace. People got a taste of "change". People got a taste of an increasingly intrusive socialist/communist leaning government. People got an even bigger taste of an overspending, overreaching federal government. If we can limit the damage that Pelosi, Reid, Obama, etc. do to the country over the next eleven months I believe we have a real chance of seeing a shift back toward the conservative, libertarian principles on which this country was founded. :2cents:

I agree.

But it is a shame that we as Americans have to learn a bitter lesson by electing a "Progressive" who has set our great country back 40 years.

The progressive movement is manifested in the school system which rewrites history, tries to instil "liberal aka progressive" values and make the kids feel uncomfortable with real American values.

Real change starts in November 2010.

In 2012 we kick this "Marxist" out of office and get our country back to it's conservitive roots and what out founding fathers intended our country to be.

God bless America! We will take out country back.

Sometimes the best lessons learned are the hardest. Jimmy Carter was a bitter pill

to swallow, too. This one is a full bore communist. The lesson had better be learned.

Another thing to consider is this- most if not all of the "achievements" of the progressive movement seem to still be with us... restoration of liberty almost NEVER happens.

Whatever damage gets done STAYS done, and in two generations, the attack on liberty gets repeated... How long before the final step into TOTAL totalitarian Fascist Communist (pick your ist or ism) is accomplished?

Time to reverse the trend- and REMAIN vigilant. Resist and rebel. Hound the traitors out of office and DEMAND restoration of the new batch. Educate the youth and the naive.

If we don't our nation is doomed to go the way so many have gone, and once WE fall...

If it's not ALREADY too late...

Surely our benevolent and harmonious friends of much like and respect in China will pick up the slack, right?;)
