Well, Thursday I went to Nashville and since I was in town stopped by East Side Gun Shop. Bill (Rabbi) has some very interesting pieces in his inventory and I will make the trip again.

A couple of the AK's caught my eye... But I left the shop the proud owner of a model 442 J-frame revolver. I will post pic's once I find some double A batteries.

I met some very nice people at Bill's shop, that in and of its self was worth the drive.

This is good week to buy a J frame I suppose :D

I'm enjoying my new 642, and since they are essentially the same gun I'm sure you will be happy with your purchase.

Nothing finer than a J-frame. I love my 642, and I'm betting you'll love the VERY similar 442.

I've heard nothing but good things about Rabbi's place. I need to get there soon.

Every gun has limitations. But the J-frame is supreme for its intended purpose.

Len, keep in mind that Democrats in my shop are subject to a 10% AMT ("Alternative Morality Tax") on all purchases. Proceeds go for the children. My children, that is.:)

Does that mean us libertarians get a 10% discount :)

If the libertarian party would get it head out of the sand and realize that there is more to the world than the area between Maine and Southern California, their positions on foreign affairs would be more reasonable. I am a libertarian on economic and social issues but their foreign policy ideas just have no basis in reality.

I think they lost a lot of people on their foreign policy. Or lack of it.

It's personal with me since my father in law was a refugee from Hitler's Germany.

You'll like the J frame series S&W snub nosed 38. I've got a 642, which is the same as your 442, except mine is stainless steel. I can carry the little 642 about anywhere in a cheap uncle mike's pocket holster.

The Ron Paul crowd, as others have stated, would gain steam if they would rethink their ideas on foreign policy, drugs, and the death penalty. I am not a fan of a huge standing army, but there is little we can do to reverse this trend after WW2 in order to defend American interests. I'm not too keen on turning the USA into the North American Amsterdam or forcing the states to do away with the death penalty.

I trust my S&W 442 with my life everyday. A great gun that you can't go wrong with.

Ok, I've had a couple Michelobs and am too lazy to go to the S*W website. What is the difference between the 442 and 642? Sooner or later, I'm getting one of these.
