David- Norrell's feedback, finally

David,

You and I discussed a while back Norrell's Moly Resin finish. I finally got around to getting both the SGW A-1 and my Para P13.45 refinished. After seeing several at home 'bake on' products, for black, you can't beat the feel and overall appearance of Norrell's, IMHO.

Both firearms were detail stripped, and I blasted them with Brownell's Coarse aluminum oxide prior to refinishing. Paasche Air Eraser works great for this. I used two different air brushes, a detail brush on the A-1, which laid several light coats and came out well, just took longer. The second brush was a Badger hobby brush picked up at Michael's, which flows considerably more than the detail brush. Used more material, and laid it a bit thicker. Surface temp is important when laying it with the hobby brush. You'll see a few of the foil marks left around the mag release button after baking it. Overall, I love the stuff.

On to pics, I'll try to get a better one of the AR (trying to figure out pixel size on the new camera):

Saw your other thread, if I was still in Nashville, I'd offer to help ya blast yours to prep for a refinish. As it is, I'm livin' in NW Florida now....sorry.

Alpha, same pic basically, I've been toying with some of the photos. Found out the setting was on low res, I'm going to go back and get some good Hi Res shots. I'll have to dig around and see if I have an old shot of the para, but they may be gone.
