Hey guys, I picked up a Slim the day after Christmas at Mike's in Tazwell...

Anyway, I love it! 500 perfect rounds of every kind of FMJ suitable for range practice.

This brings me to my topic. If you own a Slim and are lucky enough to have recieved a good one, you know that although they are an awesome carry gun (perfect size, lighweight....) you also know that accessories are slim to none, no pun intended. Alas, I have solved one problem having to do with the very narrow (.88 inches) grip. Go to your local gun store and pick up a Hogue Handall Jr. slip on grip sleeve. They fit like a glove and really add to the stablity and overall feel of the gun.

If you have any suggestions or have found any cool accessories post it on here and let everyone else know about it!

A question on the 709 Slim...

Will the gun fit comfortably in the back pocket of a pair of jeans, or is it too big?

I've been eyeballin' a couple of .380 guns for that role, but I'd rather have a 9mm if it's an option.

Thanks guys.

If it's no more than 6 - 1/4 inches long by 4 - 1/2 inches high, I'd think it would work with the proper wallet-type holster... provided it's thin enough.

My old Millennium almost worked in my back pocket. It was just too fat and looked like I had a brick in my pocket.

I guess I got a "good" one. I have 1,000 rounds through mine with no problems. I have often just put the safety on and slipped it in my back pocket. The grip is fully exposed, but I never tuck my shirt in anyways. I will say it isn't the most comfortable thing to sit on however.

The reason I said "good one" is because it seems that the Slims are still a work in progress, yet it seems that those bought around December get better reviews.

A friend of mine from church bought one and we took it out last weekend and she had no problems with it at all. The recoil is about the same as a Kel-tek pf9. We shot about 200 rounds through it including reloads and factory loads. hers shot a little to the left.

The recoil is sharp but very managable, the gun shoots a little low/left out of the box, but of course the adjustable sights compensate. I do wonder why this out of the box performance is consistant.........

I would think the recoil would be less on the slim becasue it weighs quite a bit more than the PF9. Size wise their close to the same but the slim is 5oz heavier.

Great, we expect the required "gun porn', look'n forward to your report. My wife is interested in a "Slim", carries my G26, and her P11, want something narrower in grip . I have doubts about Taurus, tho the PT745 I have has been 100% reliable, I don't trust it for EDC. She wants a EDC that she can use as a range gun too, she does that now with the 26, but not the P11, it hurts her hand after about 50rds. She looked at the PPS, just hated the mag. release. I know somebody makes " low-recoil" 9mm. don't know who, might have to find some. A narrower "9" might change her mind about body carry.

Mom got a slim a little while ago. She hasn't got to shoot it yet, because she had hand surgery not long after. She's still recovering, so she can't try it out till then.

I really want to try one of these out...and get my wife to try one as well. She wants something bigger that she can put in her purse...but I've heard good things about these and it is small enough that if she had to she could carry on her person.

I love mine, not one complaint. I would suggest shooting it before you buy one, and make sure the ergos agree with your hand. But overall, I have not hade one person hold/shoot it that wasn't impressed. Just wish the extended mags would hit the market.....I called Taurus about a month ago and they said they were going to make them, but no production date in sight.
