Looking for K31 Magazine(s)

Recommended Posts

I'm at work, so I haven't had a chance to search the Interwebs. My boss is looking for at least one magazine for his K31.

Anyone have one or know where he can buy one?

I'm in Middle Tennessee and he's in Memphis, so if anyone in these areas has one, a deal may be able to be worked out.

Thanks in advance.

Magazines are scarce and expensive. The rifles were only issued with a single magazine, and the ammunition was packed on 6-rd clips.

Here are some reasonably priced clips:

3 - Pk. Schmidt - Rubin K - 31 Stripper Clips, Magazines & Clips, Brand Not Specified at Sportsman's Guide

If he REALLY needs a magazine, this is the only one I saw for sale:

Schmidt Rubin K31 6 Round Detachable 7.5 Swiss Magazine | e-GunParts.com

Thank You!

I sent him the links.

He mentioned that he had purchased 2 of these magazines in the past from some websites, but for some reason they wouldn't work. He was trying to explain why they wouldn't work, but I didn't quite understand. I guess it was something to do with a notch or tab or something on the magazine that was preventing it from working properly.

He did mention he paid sixty-something dollars for them, but couldn't recall the site where he purchased them.

May I ask why he has a K31 that he needs magazines for? I'm pretty sure they are like Enfields...you only need (and are issued) one mag. You feed from clips thereafter.

The K31 was given to him after his Father passed, so he knows nothing about the rifles history. He just knows it didn't come to him with a magazine.

I talked with him again. He already tried on the of magazines from e-gunparts.com, but it was about 1/16 larger than the magwell, plus there was a notch (or something) that appeared to be 1/4"-1/2" off in one direction.

As a long shot, he might try calling Century International Arms, Classic Arms, or SAMCO Global. They imported most of the K31s and might have a spare mag laying around.

Another option is to keep looking on GunBroker in the hopes that one shows up.
