Knoxville residents. Anybody seen Avatar in Imax 3D at this theater? Is it worth the drive from Cleveland to see it here? Don't want to drive 75 miles to a crappy theater for a 2.5 hour movie. Comments please.

I go to movies for the story, not immersion. The reason I mention this is because I never do the imax thing so I couldn't say if Regal was awesome or not. My neighbor swears it is horrible but chemproof says otherwise.

Here's a map to help you decide:

I haven't seen it, but I've heard if you're going to see it, see it in Imax 3D. The Pinnacle isn't crappy either. It's probably the best/cleanest/newest theater in Knoxville IMO.

Regal's IMAX is going to be the best you will find without driving several hours. I would make the drive. Their IMAX is a bit smaller than ones I have been to in Florida and Myrtle Beach, But it is still worth it to see a movie like this. Great sound system and comfy chairs. I would get there early though.

Makes you wish Chattanooga had an imax that played films not related to fish

As far as where to see this movie, I'd go to the Majestic 12 downtown before driving all the way to Knox...
