Ruger SP 101 Wood Grip Inserts

My wife prefers the original Ruger grips on her SP 101 as they fit her hand better than the Hogue grips I have had on it. But the hard plastic inserts in the grip are UGLY! There used to be places that sold very nicely finished wooden inserts for the Ruger grips, but I'm having no luck locating any makers now.

Do any of you have any suggestions where I might find wooden grip inserts for the SP 101?

Look on the ruger forum, and check under the topic ongoing sales or auctions. There is a fellow who goes by 41 nut that I have purchased inserts from. He has a web link. Let me know if you have trouble finding it. His inserts are reasonable and done well. He will also use customer sent wood if you have a piece you really like.

eBay seller: dakins7579 makes them.

He's only showing a couple of exotic expensive ones at the moment, but often has 10 or more sets up for auction or buy it now.

I got these red oak ones for about 20 bucks a year or so ago; chose them 'cause it's a native TN tree unlike many of the exotic woods he uses.
