Just now. I doubt Texas will stand for that. Like was said in the piece, no law or otherwise authority has changed to allow that. BATFE doesn't have the legal authority

to assert that, nor does Austin PD. Someones trying to usurp.

If there is not an uproar then they will continue to break the law and require that we comply. Where is the NRA or GOA?

sounds like unenforcable crappola to me.

Just because someone asks you to do something, you are not compelled to follow along with it.

Enforcing will be impossible and it strikes me as government, on any level, trying to tell people what they can and cannot do with their private property.

The more laws that get written, the more criminals are made. Someone will eventually point to a regulation(which is not law) that allows this, which it really doesn't, because

it isn't a law. Now that's progressive! No pun intended at the tv commercials:D

Raises a LOT of questions, but provides no answers.....

Why wasn't the gun show operator/owner interviewed for this "new story".

Why was the police department and BATF interviewed?

Why doesn't the public notice bear the seal of these departments or even a logo on them?

I'm not questioning whether or not these notices were handed out at the show, I'm just asking who truely originated them first. Once we know that, we can ask that individual or organization many of the questions that have been raised here and more.

This whole thing stinks, but the article tell us who ripped the fart.

If I had to bet, its the gun-show promoter and the dealers who are behind that notice and not any government agency. Its common practice for nearly every show I've attended in TN to ban sales outside the show. It really pisses off the dealers to no end when they see someone besides a dealer getting a good deal on a used firearm.

Truth be told, the vast majority of dealers would celebrate if all private sales were banned.

Whether we like it or not, there are some folks in the gun community who prey on the uninformed, in order to advance their political agenda (leftists do it too). This sounds like one of those types of things. I'm getting a little tired of the "Hey have you heard about HB (fill in number here) it bans (fill in your favorite firearm or activity here)" when I'm at gun shows or gun shops. The truth is bad enough and is easily verifiable. This report, unfortunately/fortunately, does not fall in the verifiable category.
